Description
During the month of March, just a few days after the start of the first lock down, the French multinational Bricodepôt was able to launch the home delivery system and later enable orders in stores through Click & Collect. Both actions have been possible thanks to the implementation of digital transformation tools and a complex and innovative system for order preparation in each of the centers. The product information has been centralized using Akeneo Enterprise Edition PIM. In this way, technical characteristics, graphic resources, user and installation manuals and other elements related to the products are managed from a single point and distributed trough different channels (online store, printed catalogs, etc.), reducing the effort required to keep catalogs up to date or create specific brochures for campaigns. From Magento, the information provided by the PIM is collected and used in an innovative order preparation system,where each center receives the information for their related orders and the PIM indicates even on which shelf from which aisle the item needs to be collected. In phase 2 we are implementing the same scheme for the stores in Portugal.
