Rodrigo País Garay and Valeria Romero have obtained a new certification from Akeneo. It is the “Product Experience Advisor Certification” that confirms them as experts in Product Experience Advisor of the platform.

ASM works hand in hand with Tree-nation

Tree-nation is a non-profit organization based in Barcelona. Its goal is to reforest the planet by planting 1 billion trees by 2050. It’s a 100% online business model, so it’s important to always keep it up to date.

 

That’s where we come in. The ASM Web Services team has been working with this organization for some time now as an external team for programming and other functions.

 

What are we doing with Tree-nation?

We work hand-in-hand with the Tree-nation team to help them grow incrementally. We advise them on the best way to work, structure the information, on programming, etc.

One of our functions in Tree-nation is the restructuring of the project. We are working on structuring the code in a more coherent and reusable way, thinking about the future and facilitating any necessary changes. Among others, we are focusing on decoupling the different layers (infrastructure, application and domain) and we are starting to implement a hexagonal architecture.

In addition, we also take care of the project documentation. With complete documentation and the necessary information, it is much easier for the company to grow successfully. New hires will be able to refer to it to understand the project.

We also collaborate with human resources on the technical side, creating tests and even participating in job interviews. In order to ensure that the internal team that is being formed has the necessary skills to develop their work.

New features of Akeneo PIM Flexibility v. 7.0

As we told you in a previous post, Unlock 2023 was the Akeneo event where Akeneo celebrated its 10th anniversary and, in addition to presentations and workshops, the new version of the Akeneo PIM application was presented. This is the Flexibility v. 7.0 version and these are the most important new features you can find:

1. Akeneo Activation for retail
This new feature is focused on retailers who want to use Akeneo PIM and activate it on their key channels. This makes it much easier to deliver an exceptional product experience to your customers, increase time to market and reduce operational inefficiencies.

2. Customizable applications
Not all applications are suitable for everyone and can often fall short. To avoid this, they have added the ability to customize these applications to meet almost any need and innovate much faster. From Akeneo Product Cloud, the customer can generate an application to cover the needs that cannot be covered by the applications or functions already existing in the Akeneo app store.

3. Time-to-market analytics
New metrics have been added to the analytics. These allow you to identify opportunities for data enrichment optimization, as it provides the necessary data to the team to innovate and improve over the competition.

4. Akeneo for Shopify
Akeneo PIM can now be connected to Shopify-hosted stores through the Akeneo for Shopify app. This app allows customers to publish their products from Akeneo PIM to their Shopify stores. In this way, it improves time to market, product content quality and product experience.

5. New apps in the Akeneo app store
In addition to Akeneo for Shopify, more new apps have been launched to enhance the customer experience. These include apps for content translation, apps based on artificial intelligence or for catalog sorting.

6. Identifier generator
This new feature automates the generation of product identifiers. Customers can create the structure of their identifiers with product attributes, the family to which they belong, assign abbreviations, etc., and they are automatically generated based on these indications.

7. Enriched categories
Thanks to the generation of identities, you can provide the end customer with more information on product lines, categories or specific subcategories, as it allows you to take more advantage of e-merchandising information with images, descriptions and SEO content.

8. Artificial intelligence capabilities
The ability to use artificial intelligence and machine learning within Akeneo PIM has been added. Cleaning, de-duplication and categorization of products being imported can be automated.

9. Tools for developers and sample apps
Interaction with the Akeneo ecosystem is facilitated. On the one hand, business users have the assurance that the applications they need are easily accessible in the Akeneo app store. On the other hand, developers can integrate with Akeneo, reducing their total cost of ownership.

10. Advantages also for the Community Edition
Community Edition customers can more easily export and import product information, mark the SKU entry as optional and much more.

After 10 years developing our activity in Viladecans, ASM Web Services returns to Barcelona, where we started our business career. The new ASMWS headquarters is located at Avenida Madrid, 95. A well connected enclave, located very close to Sants Station, which will facilitate the mobility of our team as well as that of our clients from the rest of Spain.

Closer proximity to customers and more synergies in the teams.

The change of headquarters is aimed at “facilitating proximity with our customers and partners such as Magento or VTEX, and also with our employees when it comes to combining face-to-face work and teleworking,” according to Justo Soria, CEO and founder of ASMWS.

“We now have more space and more videoconferencing and meeting rooms for the technical team to work more comfortably and create synergies between engineering teams,” he says. In addition, he adds, “working from these new offices in Barcelona will facilitate the integration of the new Mobile Apps development company, which is also located in the same city”.

The new headquarters culminates a process of evolution

The move to these new offices in Barcelona is the culmination of a process of evolution of the company. This began with the implementation of the new operating model, which we launched at the beginning of 2021, and which involved the creation of the tech hubs.

Currently, the company has two highly specialized development centers: one in Barcelona, focused on the development of Mobile Apps, and another in León, dedicated to Software Engineering and Pricing Optimization Tools.
